Santa Barbara-based indie artist, Jamey Geston is an emerging teen singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist (vocals, guitar, ukulele, piano, & bass). A dynamic performer and a prolific songwriter, Geston makes each cover her own, covering a wide range of artists and pens her originals to boot. She plays with feelings from the heart, and loses herself in her music, delighting audiences while stirring their imagination, leaving them wanting more. “I’m really influenced by artists like Elliott Smith, King Krule, The Mamas and the Papas, Joni Mitchell, Mac Demarco, The Velvet Underground, and Angel Olsen (just to name a few).” Her genre style doesn’t “fit” the norm of today music, but if you give it a listen, you might hear a mix of acoustic and electric sounds from dreamy surf to folk pop that can easily throw you back to the sixties”.
For having such a short career, Jamey has accomplished quite a bit as she has opened for Award-winning folk singer, Judy Collins, Legendary musician, Peter Frampton, Grammy-winning guitarist, Albert Lee, ‘First Lady of Woodstock’-Melanie Safka, Crystal Bowersox (FOX’s American Idol Runner Up), and Will Champlin (NBC’s The Voice Finalist). She has tour throughout California, Colorado, Arizona, Louisiana and for the fourth straight year, was selected to play the 2016 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. She was previously a featured artist in the 2013 Santa Barbara Band Guide “The 805’s Next Great Music Maker.” She is also a visual artist, dabbling in film photography, and hopes to integrate those skills alongside her music, with band merchandise and possibly on her first album.
