Randy Seedorff has been writing and performing for over 30 years, with his interest in music starting at the young age of 11 when his mom gave him his first guitar. Later, he began appearing at local venues in the Kansas City area playing Americana and folk covers as well as original tunes.
Randy joined the popular Kansas City-based bluegrass group Greenside Up as its lead singer and guitarist. During that time he fell victim to an armed robbery that profoundly changed his life. The experience turned his full attention to both his life and music. He rededicated himself to God and began serving as a worship leader.
In 2006, Randy met British born singer-songwriter, recording artist and “brother from another mother” Shane Rootes and joined him as part of the worship leader team at River of Life Church in Kansas City, MO. That friendship continues today.
Randy founded the group Soul Purpose in 2010, out of a calling to use music as ministry. They released their studio album Rearview Mirror, produced by Larry Gann and Matt Russo, of Awe Struck Studios, in 2014. Randy released his solo project, Elevate, in 2017, also produced by Larry Gann.
The Randy Seedorff & Soul Purpose style is high energy acoustic rock, with positive messages that appeal to all ages. Most songs are originals written by Randy, and reflect his rock and blues influences. Strong vocals and great harmonies round out the sound.
Randy Seedorff & Soul Purpose have a vision to bring the love of God, through the vehicle of music, to as many people as possible. They continue to walk out that vision every chance they get.
Randy serves as worship and discipleship pastor at Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Independence, MO.
A prolific songwriter, Randy is a member of both ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and GMA (Gospel Music Association).
