Artists biography

At only the age of 22, Anthony Troy from Litchfield County, Connecticut has made a huge impact in the guitar scene with his exclusive talent in only 6 years. He was a finalist in the Wilson Center Guitar Competition and competitor of the Canadian Guitar Festival in 2012 along with several online competitions, including but not limited to, the Six String Theory Competition and Ernie Ball Competition. At the age of 18, he recorded his first album “Make Every Moment Matter” which was aired on stations radio 104.1, Ultra-Radio, and WAPJ. While attending a private college in Boston, Anthony made a living and social presence performing daily in the subways as a licensed performer. He decided to furthur his education in music when he discovered the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee which holds the only B.F.A. of Finger-Style Guitar degree program in the world. Anthony’s first semester included performing weekly for leading authorities of fingerstyle guitar John Stropes and Andrew Lardner, attending master classes with world renowned guitarists and playing exquisite venues daily throughout Milwaukee, WI. He performed and attended masterclasses with guitarists Antoine Dufour, Billy Mclaughlin, Pierre Bensusan and Pino Forastriere.

Quoted as “expressive, musical and a successful performer” by John Stropes, Anthony continues to bring out his own unique autonomy throughout his performances. His style of playing includes new age, jazz, classical, country and experimental. When he released his most recent album “First Week In” it was heard by the booking agent of Hall and Oats, Carolyn Youngblood, who has booked Anthony with several performance opportunities throughout New England. On January 2015 he was offered by Stonebridge Guitars to become an endorsed artist after they had heard his album “First Week In”.

Anthony is currently a full time guitar instructor and performer in northwest Connecticut.
