After forming in 2012, ME AND DEBOE have established a firm place in the live music scene; supporting the likes of Miles Kane, headlining at both NME favourite The Trades Club and famous indie venue Pop In - Paris, as well as performing at UK Festivals such as The Southbank Festival, London's Meltdown, and Liverpool's O2 Academy.
The band members, Mercy Elise and Sarah Deboe, both established solo performers in their own right, describe their music as "vibrant, raw, powerful, with a feminine twist." Sharply observed, frequently witty lyrics, they move effortlessly between powerful chords and delicate, percussive riffs to bring a stripped back and distinctly original sound to both their own music and cover versions.
Their new EP, HERE THEY COME, mastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, was released in 2014, ahead of the duo's summer tour across Canada and America, performing at the likes of The American Folk Art Museum and the Rockwood Music Hall, NYC. Their Last stop, New Orleans, Saw the duo perform around the french Quarter’s Music venues and feature live on the radio.
“There are no tricks here [with] the duo’s driving riffs and sumptuous vocal harmonies effortlessly intertwined to devastating effect..” Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music, Fresh on the Net.
London became an early calling, and duo perform regularly in Soho, Camden, the Southbank and Kensington. A recent nomination for Musician of the Year in London, and an award for L’fest band 2014, Manchester, has established the duos unique presence in the UK’s Live music scene.
