Ryan has been leading worship and involved in worship ministry at various churches for over 15 years. He has led worship at conferences and music festivals such as Blackstump, Revive and Easterfest. He has been serving as the Worship Ministry Co-ordinator at Gymea Baptist Church since 2011, overseeing a great team of over 90 people.
Ryan is passionate about raising up the next generation of worship leaders and encouraging worship teams. He visits local churches to teach and facilitate workshops for contemporary worship teams across a variety of denominations.
Ryan regularly contributes articles on worship for both print and online publications. Ryan has featured as a guest musical performer on “Wesley Impact TV” and his music has been featured on Christian radio. Ryan serves as worship leader and workshop presenter for the Arrow Leadership Program.
In 2014 Ryan completed a Masters of Ministry with a emphasis on Worship Studies and Spiritual Formation, through St Stephen’s University in Canada.
In 2015, Ryan will be launching his first book, “The Evergreen Worship Leader”, where he proposes a holistic model for discipling worship leaders and teams toward spiritual maturity in life and ministry.
The Sending, Ryan’s first full-length worship album, will launch in early 2015. It includes tracks songs such as “Heaven’s Son”, “We Are Ready” and “Send Us Out” that were written for his home church in Sydney Australia. Other songs such as “Shine Like Stars,” “Give You All The Praise” and “King Of Calvary” are strong and accessible songs that are sure to be well loved.
Ryan helps to facilitate worship songwriting groups and retreats, and speaks at churches and conferences on worship ministry and worship songwriting.
Ryan plays basketball, loves the beach and he is an avid book lover. Before turning his attention full-time to music and ministry, he initially studied Chiropractic at Macquarie University where he met Julie, to whom he is now happily married. They have two sons, Joshua and Caleb.
